ProLIGHTmed presented at EU Projects Day in Kaštela

17/05/2026

The EU Projects Day, organized by the City of Kaštela on Saturday, 9 May 2026, in Dudanov Park, was held as part of Croatia’s national Open Days of EU Projects initiative, aimed at bringing EU-funded projects closer to citizens and showing their concrete impact on local communities.

Dudanov Park, itself an example of a successfully implemented project supported by European funds, provided a symbolic setting for the event. Throughout the day, citizens had the opportunity to visit information stands and learn more about current and future projects promoted by the City of Kaštela, including investments in education, public infrastructure, cultural heritage, social programmes and international cooperation.

ProLIGHTmed had its own dedicated stand, hosted by Mili Jerčić, Project Manager for the City of Kaštela, one of the project partners. Surrounded by colourful balloons and project gadgets, the stand welcomed citizens, families and interested stakeholders, offering them the opportunity to discover the objectives of ProLIGHTmed and understand how the project’s activities are contributing to the city’s sustainable development.

Children were also among the main protagonists of the day. The event featured a lively programme dedicated to the youngest citizens, including puppet theatre, performances, games, face painting, music and creative activities. Local kindergartens also presented children’s artworks inspired by Europe, cooperation and shared values, creating a joyful atmosphere of participation and community spirit.

EU Projects Day in Kaštela showed once again how European cooperation can generate tangible benefits for citizens and local territories. For ProLIGHTmed, the event represented an important opportunity to engage directly with the local community, raise awareness of sustainable public lighting solutions and strengthen the link between project activities and everyday life in Kaštela.
