Workshop on energy efficiency in public lighting: A step towards sustainability in Lezhe, Albania

On December 27, 2024, the Municipality of Lezhe hosted its first-ever workshop dedicated to sustainable public lighting and energy efficiency, under the framework of the ProLIGHTmed project. This pioneering event marked a significant milestone in the municipality’s commitment to modernizing its public lighting systems and fostering environmental sustainability.

The workshop gathered a diverse group of participants, including public authorities, energy efficiency experts from the Swiss Agency for Development, administrators of the Administrative Units of the Municipality of Lezhe, and representatives from civil society. Together, they explored innovative solutions for upgrading the public lighting infrastructure to align with modern energy standards.

A highlight of the event was a comprehensive needs assessment questionnaire, completed by the attendees, to identify key priorities and guide strategic investments in Lezhe’s public lighting network. The insights gathered will play a crucial role in shaping future actions funded by the ProLIGHTmed project, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to achieve maximum impact.

Awaiting further project activities involving the Municipality of Lezhe, this workshop represented a vital step towards energy-efficient urban development in Lezhe, fostering collaboration and innovation for a sustainable future.
