Second workshop on sustainable public lighting held in Tuzi, Montenegro

On December 20, 2024, the Municipality of Tuzi hosted the second workshop under the ProLIGHTmed project, focusing on sustainable public lighting systems. The event gathered representatives from public authorities, SMEs, NGOs, financial institutions, and local communities to discuss innovative solutions and collaborative strategies for modernizing public lighting in the region. The workshop emphasized presenting the project’s scope, reviewing the current state of public lighting systems, and fostering stakeholder engagement through discussions and feedback collection.

Agenda and key activities

During the workshop, the agenda featured several key activities that fostered engagement and provided valuable insights. The event commenced with opening remarks by Project Manager, Lejla Đoković, and representatives from the Municipality of Tuzi, who emphasized the significance of sustainable public lighting for the local community. Following this, Financial Project Expert, Predrag Janković, presented an in-depth overview of the ProLIGHTmed project, detailing its scope and highlighting the anticipated benefits for the Montenegrin region.

 

Mihalo Zečević, a public lighting expert, shared a comprehensive analysis of the current infrastructure, identifying challenges and pinpointing areas in need of improvement. Additionally, the Urbion LTD SME showcased cutting-edge, eco-friendly lighting solutions that promise to boost energy efficiency while reducing maintenance costs. To conclude, participants engaged in a feedback session through a detailed survey, offering valuable recommendations to shape the implementation of pilot actions in the region.

Main outcomes

The workshop underscored the need for inclusive collaboration among stakeholders and financial support to modernize public lighting systems. The insights and feedback collected during the session will play a crucial role in shaping future project activities and achieving sustainable public lighting solutions.
